AI help, your call
Tinderbox Works is for solo devs and small indies, with a fully AI-native workflow, without AI at all, or anything in between. The welcome asks how you work. Settings › AI help has one switch for everything and one per kind of work, and every screen follows: AI buttons leave, the hand-made way becomes the main one, and queued tasks wait.
New
How do you work?
A new welcome step with three choices: With my Claude Code, Without AI, or Some of each (five switches, one per kind of work). It's saved for the game you add next; the setup then skips the CLI steps when no AI help is on.
Settings › AI help.
One switch for everything and one per kind of work: pick up bugs and features, record demos, write posts and store copy, research your game and market, find creators and communities. Each says what happens with it on and off. AI help is set per game, and a new game starts with your last game's choice.
Every screen follows.
A kind that's off hides its Ask Claude Code buttons and makes the hand-made way the main one (I'm on it on the backlog, Start from the template for dev logs, Write the profile, Pick the tags, the plan map's guides). With everything off, AI Agent tasks leave the menu and Connect stops asking for Claude Code. The API refuses new tasks of a kind that's off.
Queued tasks wait, nothing is lost.
Switching a kind off pauses its queued AI Agent tasks: Claude Code doesn't see them and Settings counts them. Switch it back on and they're there again. Running tasks finish, and a fix by Claude Code doesn't queue a demo task while demos are off.
Changed
For solo devs and small indies, with or without AI.
The site says so: it works with fully AI-native workflows, for developers who don't use AI at all, or anything in between.
